A mother’s toughest decision
Alexandra became homeless the day she fled an abusive relationship. With just two bags, three young children and £15 to her name, she made the terrifying decision to leave in order to keep her children safe. She had delayed leaving for as long as she could, not because she wanted to stay, but because she feared there would be nowhere for her family to go.

Less than £500 changed everything
When Alexandra finally escaped, they had no secure place to stay and no money to rebuild. The cost of securing a safe home was less than £500, but it was completely out of reach. With support from a local women’s refuge, her frontline worker applied for an emergency grant from St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity. The grant was awarded quickly, making it possible for Alexandra to secure a safe, stable home for her children.

Now, there is hope
Today, Alexandra and her children are rebuilding their lives in safety. For the first time in years, she can look to the future with hope. A small grant made a life-changing difference and your support can do the same for another family in crisis.
